FastAlign® 7100Pro Quick Start Guide

What you should do prior to using your FastAlign® 5100Pro for the first time.  Familiarizing yourself with your new satellite meter.

This quick start guide will walk you through the primary and basic steps on setting up your meter for first use.  It will allow you to familiarize yourself with this new product.  You will quickly see that operating the meter is very user-friendly.  Please follow the steps below to set your meter up for first use.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions, comments, or concerns. 

  1. Open the box and take your new FastAlign® 7100Pro out of the box.
  2. Open the protective case and take the meter out of the protective carrying case.
  3. Open the battery compartment door of the meter, and install the AA rechargeable batteries that are included with the meter. 
  4. Initially, the batteries have a small amount of charge.  You should allow the meter to fully charge between 4-5 hours.
  5. Turn the meter on by pressing the "F4" button on the front panel.
  6. The meter comes pre-programmed with the following 27 satellites:
    1. Galaxy 19
    2. SES 1
    3. AMC 6
    4. AMC 3
    5. Galaxy 2
    6. Galaxy 3C
    7. AMC 1
    8. AMC 15
    9. Satmex 6
    10. Astra 19
    11. Galaxy 18
    12. Amazonas 2
    13. Amazonas 1
    14. Intelsat 707
    15. Hispasat 1D
    16. NSS 806
    17. Satmex 5 C
    18. AMC 1 C
    19. AMC 8 C
    20. Express AM
    21. Bonum 56
    22. Intelsat 6
    23. PAS 4
    24. ABS
    25. Express 6A
    26. Yamal 90 Ku

  7. Turn on the AutoFind function for the satellites you like by following the steps outlined on this page.
  8. The meter is programmed with the most current satellite transponder frequencies.  But, due to the frequent change in transponder frequencies, make sure that the satellites you use frequently have the correct transponder frequency programmed in.  You can do so by following these easy steps or using the users manual that was included with the meter.

How to modify or view transponder frequencies:

  1. Turn on the meter by pressing the "F4" button.
  2. Choose day or night mode by pressing the "F1" or "F2" buttons.
  3. Continue to press the "F2" or "F3" buttons to navigate through the menu of the meter until you see "ADDITIONAL FUN."
  4. Choose "OK" by pressing the "F1" button.
  5. Navigate left or right by pressing the "F2" or "F3" buttons until you see "EDITOR"
  6. Choose "OK" by pressing the "F1" button.
  7. At this point, navigate through the satellite names list by pressing the "F2" or "F3" buttons and choose your desired satellite by pressing "F1"
  8. Navigate through the menu by pressing the "F2" or "F3" buttons until you see "CHOICE TR."
  9. Choose "EDIT" by pressing the "F1" button.
  10. At this point, you can navigate through the transponder frequencies programmed in the meter by pressing the "F2" or "F3" buttons.  Make sure that there is at least 1 transponder with the correct frequency for the particular satellite.

You can edit the transponder name, frequency, symbol rate, and polarization by pressing the "F1" button and then navigating through the different option by pressing the "F2" or "F3" buttons.  You can edit each field by pressing the "F1" button. Once you change the desired field, you can save each field by holding down the "F1" button for about 3 seconds. 

Basic Guide:

Function Button Map:

  • F1 = OK/Edit/Save

  • F2 = Change selection ascending order/Navigate

  • F3 = Change selection descending order/Navigate

  • F4 = Exit/Back/On.  When you hold down the "F4" button for 3 seconds, the meter shuts off.

The "F2" & "F3" buttons are used for navigating through the menus.  They are used to scroll left, right, up, or down. 

Pressing down the "F1" button will enter a field.  When in a field, pressing the "F1" button will allow you to enter edit mode.  You can then use the "F2" & "F3" buttons to make the necessary changes and press and hold down the "F1" button to save any changed settings. 

The "F4" button acts as an exit or back button.  When out of all menus, hold the "F4" button down for 3 seconds to turn the meter off.  press it once to turn the meter on.
